Activity- Pick your own at Parkside Farm
These ‘Pick Your Own’ Farms are a growing phenomena across some of the most populated cities in the world and they’re an initiative which we really believe are a brilliant way for you to do your bit in reducing the environmental impact of your activities. Based in Enfield, just a 25-minute walk from the Gordon Hill station is a farm where customers can wander all of the 50 acres picking their own seasonal fruit and vegetables straight from the source. We’re coming to the end of Strawberry season so give this place a visit and stock up on your favourite smoothie ingredients whilst you still can!
Café- Simple and Good
If you find yourself enjoying the respite of Enfield after a morning in the ‘Pick Your Own’ farm and you’re not quite ready to return to the city, this is a delightful spot for you to get some top-quality plant-based grub! Allowing you to sit in or take-away, this is a great place to enjoy with the family! A relaxed environment that fully caters to a range of dietary requirements, Simple and Good is an eatery that lives up to its name. It was difficult to decide but our favourite dish would have to be the Cauliflower Curry, check out the menu for yourself and let us know what you think.
Sunday 25th
Activity – Nottinghill Carnival
Quite possibly the most significant event of the cultural calendar takes place this bank holiday, an infamous event which needs no introduction given its international acclaim- Notting Hill Carnival. Taking place along the streets of Notting Hill in the area of Kensington, this is a celebration of the cultural dynamism within the melting pot of London. Led by members of the British West-Indian community, this event attracts over a million people in a colourful embrace, complete with bone-shaking bass music and perhaps the most energetic dancing one could imagine. A major event in the year’s calendar which is incredibly well organised with something to spark the interest of just about anyone.
Café- Portobello Juice Café
If you find yourself in the Kensington area after the Carnival in need of a refuel and a sit-down then the Portobello Juice Café is just the solution for you. The Café solely uses fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from the Portobello Market and make all of their drinks to order without ever using pre-packaged or pasteurised juices. A vibrant place to get some great plant-based bites? Count us in!
Strong Roots Recipe – SMOKEY BBQ CAULIFLOWER HASH BROWNS
Our brand ambassador Roz Purcell has come up with the goods, once again. This recipe is on another level. It has to be one of our new favourite ways to eat our Cauliflower Hash Browns. This is such a simple way to change up these hash browns into an unbelievable “cauli wing” style sharing plate.
