Summer Planner Dublin 17th-18th

16 Aug 2019 | Events

How is it the middle of August already? We just cannot comprehend! However, the summer coming to an end doesn't mean we have any intention to waste the weekends that we do have left. Here are some top recommendations of ours to make the most of the time we have left!

Saturday 17th

Restaurant: Blazing Salads

More than simply a café or restaurant, ‘Blazing Salads‘ brings innovation and dynamism to the Dublin food scene. We first discovered this gem after hearing brilliant reports about the classes and workshops they host regularly.  It is also a vibrant little restaurant situated on Drury Street with rotating menus which are determined by the seasonality of their produce, so you know what you’re getting is fresh and in season. All of their hot food is charged by weight so you can have as much or as little as you fancy and they even feature a ‘grain of the week’!

What more could we possibly ask for?

Activity: Totally Terrific Tomato Festival

This event, featuring in the National Botanic Gardens, is a celebration of our favourite little red juicy gems. Last year the festival hosted a world record-breaking 256 cultivators alongside a series of tomato talks and fun activities, making it the perfect family day out for the plant-based aficionadoes amongst us!

Check out some of their lectures and planned activities here.

Sunday 18th

Restaraunt: Happy Food

It is not often you stumble across a restaurant that provides gluten-free, dairy-free and plant-based options fully capable of satisfying even the most seemingly insatiable cravings but such places do exist and Happy Food is certainly one of them. Signature dishes include the Happy Vibe Breakfast, mouth-watering Sloppy Joe (made from Black Bean and Sweet Potato with Tofu Bacon) and our favourite- The Whopper Portobello Burger! The best part about Happy Food? It’s located within YogaHub studio which means you can work up an appetite beforehand or Nama-stay for a work-out afterwards!

Activity: Bark in the Park

Is there anything more rewarding than making a small contribution to a good cause and is there anything more fulfilling than a day spent with a few furry companions? A sponsored dog walk will be taking place in the Phoenix Park to raise funds for the Irish Blue Cross small animal services. If you want to see something that will melt your heart then check out some of the competitions being run on the day for the coveted titles of Dog with the Best Bark, Dog with the Happiest Smile, Dog with the Waggiest Tail, Dog with the Shiniest Coat and Best Overall Dog!
