Summer Planner Bristol 17th-18th
16 Aug 2019 | Events
Saturday 17th
Restaurant: VX
We recently checked out VX and you can rest assured our high-expectations were certainly met! Purveyors of plant-based ingenuity we cannot wait to return to this place, they manage to satiate the hungriest of appetites without sacrificing flavour whatsoever. Our recommendation would have to be the mouth-watering Steak Frites, you can thank us later!
Check out their menu here.
Activity: Pedal in the Park
The Bristol ‘Pedal in the Park’ event first began as an ideal way of getting the whole family out and about on the weekends and it’s proved to be a tremendous success so far. Not only have the lovely people of St George’s Park organised the 2km and 5km cycle routes to be free of traffic, but they have also set-up quite a few interesting activities that the whole family can enjoy. From face painting to music, this event caters to everyone this Saturday.
Check out their website for more information on various activities.
Sunday 18th
Restaurant: Fi-Real
It’s no easy task to bring a fresh and unique new dynamic to the plant-friendly restaurant industry but the good folk at Fi-Real have certainly done exactly that. The cafe manages to merge the experience of Caribbean food with the best parts of a plant-based meal, with the result being an experience like you’ve never had before. The Caribbean background of its owners ensures an authenticity that is inimitable and you are always greeted through the doors with a genuine welcome from the staff.
Activity: Seasonal food and craft markets at Tyntesfield
Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre this Sunday to the outskirts of Bristol City and spend the day strolling through the seasonal foods and craft market. This quaint little market hosts all you could desire, with artisanal food vendors serving up only the most delectable of options and world-class craftspeople showcasing their hand made pieces. There’s plenty of seasonal treats and samples too. The organisers have more details on their webpage here! Why not have a stroll around the village afterwards and let us know what gems you’ve discovered?
Strong Roots Recipe: Roz Purcell’s Kale & Quinoa Burger with Spicy Slaw
This recipe is exactly what we are about here at STRONG ROOTS. It is quick, easy to prepare and so delicious. Roz has added grated carrot and a spicy slaw which adds such a great crunch, complemented perfectly by the creaminess of sriracha tahini sauce! Lunch sorted! Check out the recipe and more here.
